Cambodia Trip Part 1

I went there with a friend 'Natt , one of my friend 'Thonya, got a friend 'Daniel, who's living there (hope it won't get confuse hehe). Here's the details of my trip I'll start from Day 1.

Oh but before I'll start I want to give information that I asked for Visa in Bangkok first and it cost 20 US Dollars (or 1,000 Baht), I have been told that it will be easier to get to Cambodia you don't have to wait to apply for visa at the border.

But if you don't have lots of time to apply in Bangkok you can also apply at the border and the fee is same and it would be easier if you have a valid photo with you but if you don't you have to pay about 200 baht (i think) for the photo and it's also easy. So let's the trip begin.

Day 1

We went to Ratchavithi Hospital we've been told that the bus to Rong Klua Market or Border Market will get off there at 5.30am we got there around 5.15 am we saw some middle age man he said the bus left at 4.30am (Gosh!!) and there's only one bus so we have to go to Mo Chit (Northern Bus Terminal) to take bus to Aranyaprathet instead. We reached Mo Chit around 5.30 and bought ticket at Counter no. 25 downstair the ticket costs only 97 Bath each (Luckily it's in promotion time hulahulahula) Normally it's 193 Bath each Wooooo!!

Bus Timetable from Bangkok
5.00, 5.30, 6.00, 9.30, 14.30, 16.00

From Aranyaprathet
6.30, 10.30, 13.00, 13.30, 15.00

(Now they have bus from Aranyaprathet directly to Suvannabhumi Airport ,so it's more easy).

We're so lucky we've got 6.00 bus cos the next one was 9.00 it could be too late.
We reached Aranyaprathet at 10am, we asked people around there for the cab to border we waited there around half an hour or so then we saw the Green cab arrived it's not a big bus but thai people called 'Song Thaew' like the big truck with roof and have two seat rows, the cab fare was 10 baht each and they will drop you at the border you just tell them your destination.

We walked through the Thai immigration, there're a million of people been waiting in a line mostly Thai people who has no passport and no visa and some Khmer people, we have Visa already so the officer took us to foreigners counter, it's a little funny and shame that I filled the arrival form (hehe) instead of departure form, duh!!!! (But also 2 british girls besides me hehe).

Luckily we have 2 companions to shared taxi 2 girls from UK, after we got through Thai border the Taxi association ofiicer came to us and asked if we need taxi costs 45 USD. We told them that we've been told that the costs is only 40 USD. The officer said the price has raised , so we agreed to go but we have to wait for 2 brit girls to asked for Visa first. After that, we went to Cambodian immigration , Thai people have to pay 100 bath. As we waited for 2 british girls, some girl from South Africa came to us and asked if we want to share taxi? The taxi officer said 'They have 4 already' but we said we could do that if the driver allows us to. Then the driver agreed and we paid 10 USD each. We sat not really comfortable but it's not terrible.

We reached Siem Reap around 3.30pm it's so early. Daniel picked us up and led us to the guesthouse called 'Shadow of Angkor' it's French Coloniel style with the river view front just around the corner of the Old Market area, the room looked ok. Then we walked down and wandered around the market for awhile for exchange money and have something to eat, I ate something like Kanom Jeen (spicy noodle soup with coconut milk) but it tasted like southern kanom jeen,

After we went back to our room I fast fallen asleep hehehe. Natt been disappeared when I woke up she went down to asked for the trip for tomorrow from the staff downstair and she got up to insisted me to go walking around. We walked around Bar Street a bit. There're lots of bars and restaurants including some bar with Budha for a name….
We walked passed a bar that Daniel works with and saw him there so we went in and talked ,,he paid us Angkor Beer and Suremi (or Tapla) it's really good taste.

And he told us the schedule for the next day trip and this is the schedule
For Grand tour
Bantaey Srey (cos it's very far off)
Bantaey Somre (it's on the way back)
Prerup, Bantaey Kdei
Ta Prohm
Pre Khan
atch sunset at Panom Bakheng

We went back to our room and met the driver who’ll take us to temples next day he seems like a nice person and speak good English.
