Cambodia Trip Part 2

Day 2

Woke up at 7am we appointed the driver at 8am when we went down the driver waited for us already but we excused to have breakfast first. After that Thiery our driver drove us to check point
We need to buy ticket and we bought 3 days trip costs 40 USD , if you want to visit only one day it’s 20 USD and 7 days 60 USD , 3 days ticket was enough for us we have only 3 days free actually. Before get ticket we have to take photo (for free) to stick on ticket and we can keep it like a souvenir. You can smile laugh or do what ever you want during taking photo but remember this pic will stick on your ticket and you have to show to the officers and if you don’t mind the other people were looking at you so,, do what you want!!

We drove off from check point, first the road looks good but after awhile it turned to terrible!! Dust and dirt all around.... they renovated it.

At Banteay Srey there’re lots of tourists we have to show ticket there. Temple is not really big ,got big ponds in front and at the back yard, it could be really peacefully in the early

There’re many shops and buses parked all around, lots of selling competition (haha) Khmer children are really clever they speak very good English and are really good seller they won’t let you go until they’ll find the new customers!!

You could support them if you want, but as for me,, I don’t need any more scarves or more

t-shirt I just bought it last night.
Actually they sale not really expensive 1 or 2 USD is a fare price tho.

Next destination was Banteay Somre there weren’t so many tourists , maybe becos it’s a bit far off and not so many people knew this place. The temple looked ancient and all carved figures almost perfectly still, this temple seemed very far from the others, we walked around and took lots of pics people in the past they were really clever, amazing!!
Then we walked to the east gate , I sensed for the early time in the past when I saw the entrance gate look further into the jungle. Cambodian government take really good care for the ancient places and there’re many temples in Siem Reap to visit not only Angkok Wat and Angkor Thom.

When we went out to the parking lot we’ve met another selling competition again Khmer girls around 4-6 ran to us and tried to sell scarves they showed us the scarf and said ‘Hello Lady do you want scarves?’ very funny and it made me gone nervous!! But finally I bought one scarf from one girl costs only 2000 riel or 20 bath or 50 cent!! It’s really cheap, I bought only one cos I don’t know what am I going to do if I buy many, I have many scarves at home actually. But then the other girl said 'Please buy from me also why you buy from her but not me?' and she kept nagging and nagging the same thing.

Thierry saw us so he drove tuk tuk to us.
Then we jumped on tuk tuk and drove away , Thank you Thierry. ^_^Thierry dropped us at Pre Rup for the next, I looked up at the stairs ,,,,phews!! I need to climb up there, Thierry said he’ll wait for us at the south gate so we climbed up and admired the place , took photos, and relaxed a bit, there’s some of tourists as well.

This place might be temple or holy place to pray or something if people live here they could be really really strong. After awhile we climbed down and saw some kids played crystal balls, took their pics and then headed off.It almost 1 O’clock right then and Thierry drove us the the better road passed Bantaey Kdei but he didn’t stop so I and Natt looked at each other smiling maybe later.

Then he stopped at ‘Ta Prohm’ but before getting inside we looked for something to eat first as we walked passed some restaurants 2-3 girls walked to us and showed us Menu it’s another competition again hehe.

After lunch we went inside, only looked at the Gate I fast fallen in love with this place, I like face sculptures, looked really holy Ta Prohm looked older than the others temples I’ve seen. Lots of big trees, big roots on the rocks. I think people abandoned this place for more than 200 years, this place has damaged and looked horrific. There’re lots of tourists inside I felt better when I’ve seen lots of people in there cos If I were left alone in that place I’m might be going insane haha,,,,some group walked passed us and the guide said ‘Do you know a film ‘Tomb Raider? They shot in here’ ahh,, never knew it before, this is really my favorite place.

My camera ran out of batteries so I have to take them from sub-camera (or my mobile hehe) don’t have to wonder why lots of bad quality pics from Ta Prohm haha.

After Ta Prohm we went to ‘Pre Kahn’ a bit farther more, before we got inside I bought new batteries 4 for 100 bath, not really bad.

On the way to the temple there’s a disabled music band, people would called them ‘Beggar’ but they didn’t just beg but they played music in return (didn’t see lots of people stop and listen they just give away the money and gone just like me hehe) well this kind of a band they said it’s came from the association of people who disabled actually from wars they didn’t know what to do, some selling magazine (truly with no hands) and they play music to support their family (I don’t want to calculate how much will they get in a day) anyway if you could, you can drop them some money 1 or 2 USD or even 1000, 2000 riel better than nothing.

Daniel said if you’ve seen many temples in a day then you’ll think that everywhere is the same but every temple has a different itself.
We wandered around for awhile and there’s almost 5 o’clock then we off to watch sun set at ‘Panom Bakheng’ on the way we drove passed Angkor Thom and Bayon we’ll visit them next day by bike.

At Panom Bakheng million of people again, some just arrived some departed, lots of people climbed up the mountain and there’s a sign ‘Be careful! No running up!’ hahaha very good advice it could be really challenging if you would run up ..only walk was very difficult well… it used to be a stair but…… can’t figure it out any more hehehe.

Natt climbed so fast I have to stop very often getting old maybe (but believe me Natt is older than me !! hahaha) we reached the top and many people were sitting on the edge.
I sat on the edge and wait for the sun to settle down and it’s worth waiting, after awhile it’s almost dark we climbed back down before it’s getting more dark.

We were searching for Thierry and took photos with Tuk Tuk.We drove passed Angkor Wat there’re lots of people were sitting on the Mat in front of ‘Angkor Wat’ and I saw they sell grilled corn looked really yummy and smell really good I want to buy some but Thierry drove very fast too late to let him stop maybe later. We reached guesthouse with safety (and dust and dirt haha) around 6.30pm we paid 10 USD for the trip.

Then we go out to find something to eat , we chose one restaurant and ordered 2 sets of food taste close to thai foods. it’s not really bad indeed. We had a big meal that night ^_^

After that we went to bar street again and saw a bar called ‘ Red Piano’ looked really nice we said we should have a drink there but we’re too busy to sit and relax hehe well.. didn’t pop in tho. Then we met Daniel worked with his notebook again we went in and asked about the trip to ‘Tonle Sap’ next day he said he hasn’t met his friend who organized the tour ..then we have to go there by ourselves . Then we went back to guesthouse and asked reception about the price for Tuk Tuk he said 6 USD so we told him we’ll go. Watch TV with Thai channel no wonder why Khmer people can speak Thai. We said we’ll wake up to see sun rise at ‘Sre Srang’ but but ………..
